Client guidelines

Client Policy

Clear guidelines for clients who post digital tasks, work with workers, review submissions, and use Lepem WorkHub.

Last updated: October 27, 2026

1. Purpose and scope

This Client Policy describes the responsibilities of people and organizations ("Clients") using Lepem WorkHub ("Platform") to request digital work from workers.

Tasks may include transcription, writing, proofreading, document creation, formatting, data annotation, and other services supported by the Platform.

This policy works alongside our Terms of Service and Payments Policy. The terms shown for an individual task may provide additional details.

2. Client accounts and responsibilities

Clients must provide accurate account information and use the Platform only for lawful purposes.

  • Keep login credentials secure.
  • Do not impersonate another person or organization.
  • Provide accurate information needed to define a task.
  • Use only payment methods you are authorized to use.
  • Notify the Platform if you suspect unauthorized account access.

Clients are responsible for reviewing task details before submitting a request or agreeing to a price.

3. Posting tasks

Clients should describe the work clearly so that workers can understand what is required before accepting a task.

Task descriptions should include, where relevant:

  • The task's purpose and expected deliverables.
  • Instructions, formatting rules, and required file types.
  • The expected deadline and any important milestones.
  • The agreed budget and any disclosed fees.
  • Objective requirements used to review the submission.

Clients must not use misleading descriptions, conceal important requirements, or request unlawful work. Requirements should be proportionate to the agreed task and disclosed before work begins.

4. Prices, budgets, and task changes

Clients should review the displayed task price and any applicable fees before confirming a transaction. The total amount and currency should be made clear at the point where the Client commits to pay.

If the Client wants to add work, change the deliverables, or adjust a deadline after a worker has accepted the task, the change should be discussed and agreed upon before it is treated as part of the original task.

Clients must not demand substantial additional work without appropriate agreement on scope, price, and timing.

5. Communication with workers

Clients should communicate professionally and provide timely, relevant information needed to complete a task.

  • Answer reasonable questions about the task.
  • Explain requested changes clearly.
  • Provide feedback related to the agreed requirements.
  • Respect the worker's privacy and personal boundaries.

Clients must not harass, threaten, discriminate against, or pressure workers to perform work outside the agreed scope. They must not ask workers to falsify records or participate in unlawful activities.

6. Files, materials, and permissions

Clients are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary rights or permissions to provide files, recordings, documents, images, and other materials for a task.

Clients should provide only the information reasonably needed for the work. Avoid sharing passwords, payment-card details, unnecessary personal information, or confidential information unrelated to the task.

Clients must disclose relevant restrictions on the use of supplied materials and must not request that workers violate copyright, privacy rights, confidentiality obligations, or applicable law.

7. Reviewing and accepting work

Clients should review submitted work against the task description, agreed instructions, and any stated acceptance criteria.

If a submission does not meet an agreed requirement, the Client should identify the specific issue and explain what correction is reasonably needed.

Clients should not reject work arbitrarily, invent new requirements after submission, or use a rejection process to obtain work without paying amounts lawfully owed.

The applicable task workflow determines how submissions, revision requests, approvals, and deadlines are handled. Clients should follow the process actually provided by the Platform.

8. Changes, delays, and cancellations

If a Client needs to change or cancel a task, they should do so as early as reasonably possible and follow the available task process.

A cancellation after work has begun may affect the worker's compensation and the Client's refund eligibility. The result depends on the agreed terms, task status, applicable payment arrangements, and applicable law.

Clients should communicate promptly if they cannot provide necessary materials or decisions on time. Delays caused by missing information may affect the expected completion date.

9. Payments, refunds, and records

Clients must pay amounts properly due under the agreed task terms and the Platform's applicable payment process.

Refunds, cancellation charges, payment disputes, and processing times are governed by the Payments Policy, the applicable transaction terms, payment-provider requirements, and relevant law.

  • Keep transaction confirmations and relevant task records.
  • Do not submit false claims about payments or completed work.
  • Report suspected unauthorized transactions promptly.
  • Do not share passwords or full payment-card details in messages.

A payment or refund is not considered complete merely because a request has been submitted; the relevant payment provider or payment system must confirm the result.

10. Acceptable conduct and prohibited requests

Clients must use Lepem WorkHub respectfully and lawfully. They must not request or encourage workers to engage in fraud, harassment, unauthorized access, infringement, or other prohibited activity.

Clients must not:

  • Submit misleading or intentionally incomplete task descriptions.
  • Request work that violates applicable law or third-party rights.
  • Use threats or harassment to force a worker to comply.
  • Manipulate reviews, task records, or payment evidence.
  • Attempt to obtain confidential information without authorization.
  • Use the Platform to distribute malicious or deceptive materials.

11. Privacy and confidentiality

Clients should treat worker account information, private messages, and other non-public information responsibly. Personal information should be used only for legitimate purposes connected with the task and handled in accordance with applicable law.

Clients must not publish private worker information, share confidential communications without authorization, or use personal information for unrelated purposes.

For information about the Platform's own handling of personal information, read our Privacy Policy.

12. Disagreements and disputes

If a disagreement arises about task quality, scope, payment, or a cancellation, the parties should first refer to the agreed task requirements and relevant Platform policies.

When contacting the Platform about a dispute, provide the task reference, a concise explanation, and relevant supporting information. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information.

Any review, mediation, or appeal process is available only to the extent it has actually been established and is described by the Platform. Nothing in this policy removes rights or remedies available under applicable law.

13. Account restrictions

The Platform may review reported conduct and account activity to protect users, investigate suspected fraud, and enforce its terms.

Where justified and permitted by law, violations may result in warnings, task restrictions, suspension, or account termination. Any review or appeal options will depend on the procedures available on the Platform.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Client Policy as the Platform's features, processes, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will display an updated date.

Where required by applicable law, material changes will be communicated or accepted before they take effect.
